Apollo 13. An Image in Time
Since people have been taking picture's they have been capturing moments in time, moments in history.I thought it might be fun to pick photo's from the pages of history and to start a series. This picture was taken on board an air craft carrier. That picked up the Apollo 13 crew members James A. Lovell, John L. "Jack" Swigert, and Fred W. Haise. The three man crew started out on a mission to the moon. Halfway there a spark set off oxygen tanks and caused an hole in the side of the space craft. Oxygen was not only used for breathing (of course),but also to power the space craft. The mission of landing on the moon was aborted . The crew survived in the lunar module. That was suppose to be used to land on the moon. They used the module's power and life support systems to get them home again. The whole world held it's breath as the spacecraft made reentry. There was a happy ending of course!

Remembering 9/11 in Image's
On the morning of September 11Th 2001 I was busy getting ready for work. When my Mother called me into her bedroom where she had a old black and white TV. She told that one of the World Trade Towers had been hit. I remeber watching the second plane hitting one of the towers over and over again on TV. It wasn't until I had gotten home from work that it really hit. I remember sitting in front of that TV in the living room crying. In order to remember thoughs who died that day I put a collage of picture's together.

Depth of Field!
Hello There,
I am going to talk to you about Depth of Field today. What is it you might ask? Will as I learned Depth of Field (Dof) is a term used to describe how much of an image is in focus. An image with confined or small depth of field is one that has a small zone of sharpness, while an image with a wide depth field has a large zone of sharpness. To get a better illustration of what I am talking about check out this web~Site at digcamguides.com.

The First Camera
Hi Everybody,
Did you know that the first camera was invented in the 11th century? Here is a a paragraph about it from About.com.
"Photography started with a camera and the basic idea has been around since about the 5th Century B.C. For centuries these were just ideas until an Iraqi scientist developed something called the camera obscura sometime in the 11th Century. Even then, the camera did not actually record images, they simply projected them onto another surface. The images were also upside down. The first camera obscuras used a pinhole in a tent to project an image from outside the tent into the darkened area. It took until the 17th Century for camera obscuras to be made small enough to be portable and basic lenses to be added." About.com

Hi All
I enjoy finding bio's of famous photographer's! You look at their pictures then you learn about the photographers. You think ohh, thats who took that picture, because some the pictures are familiar to you. Like the flag raising on Iwo Jima. This is a three part series on Alfred Eisenstaedt. He was born in Berlin. His Uncle gave him his first camera on his birthday, a Kodak Eastman camera. He is called the "The Father of Photojournalism". Enjoy.

Pixel. Mega Pixel. What are they?
Hello all,
For those of you wondering what a Pixel and Mega Pixel are, or what's the differents. Don't worry you are not alone. In the simplest terms a Pixel is the smallest part of a digital image. Think of it as a puzzle piece and when you put all of these piece's together you get a Mega Pixel. There are 1 million pixels in just one Mega pixel. The more Mega Pixel's the better resolution/quality of picture. For more information on this subject view the link below! Hope this information was helpful.
